Update on Weight Loss Journey

Weight loss brings SO many improvements and freedoms🙏

Today, my cardiologist dropped one of my medications that I had to begin taking at the end of 2023 due to my having prolonged AFIB at that time.

Now that I have let go of 60 additional pounds that were really beginning to impact my health and mobility in a variety of ways, my Doctor felt it was safe to let go of this med. That is progress!!! I have never had to take meds until this AFIB situation and I am looking forward to relinquishing the others at my 6 month follow up. Cardio exercise will be part of my plan to ensure that happens, so stay tuned for my new endeavors.

Thank you so much for joining me on my journey to spread lipedema awareness and weight loss inspiration. Your support means the world to me – the fact that so many people have reached out with kind words of encouragement keeps me feeling energized and full of hope.

There are so many ways you can become more involved in the community. Let me know if you want to join my accountability group by commenting “accountability.” Also, make sure to follow my socials for your regular dose of positive vibes.

What to Wear? Disco Edition

I LOVE to Sparkle✨ whenever I can so I was thrilled when this year’s theme for my son’s school’s fashion show was chosen as “DISCO” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this annual fashion show we work hard all year to bring to the community to raise funds for students our Mothers Guild provides tuition assistance to when they lose a parent while enrolled.

As a parent of a senior, this year’s fashion show was incredibly special as my son made his fashion show runway debut! As a woman who has graced fashion show runways herself, I purposely did NOT give him any tips and he was all about keeping the details a surprise. But, I am gonna take this proud Mama moment to gloat and say “He’s a Natural and ate up that Runway!!”🕺

A wonderful time was had by all and everyone definitely slayed in their disco fashion!🤩

Fun fact: I wore this size XL gold sequin dress on this exact day in 2020 to celebrate hitting 50K followers on IG🥳

As for how it fits differently,
I am down about 20 pounds and notice that the top is loose now🙏

Are you team gold or silver? I am team gold because I have yellow undertones in my skin. Have you ever had your colors done?

Return what doesn’t serve your body

DON’T be like me and make this mistake! Return what doesn’t serve your body.

Fit Tip: Shorts that bind at the thigh likely are not cut for your body. This fit will not change even when your body does.

With so many brand and options, we no longer need to wear garments that are not supportive for our individual bodies!

Truth be told, these shorts are from many seasons back and this may be the 3rd time I wore them because they dig into my thigh and I absolutely do not love that look! When I bought them I thought they would fit when I lost 10lbs. Yeah, no so much. I should have returned them because our clothes should bring us joy and adornment that makes us feel good and expresses our style confidently.

With robust thighs, it is easy to think this is how it has to be but it doesn’t.

I chose to go out with these because we were in a hurry, losing the light and I wanted to be carefree in getting out the door in a sporadic moment when my son said “we are going to the beach in 10 minutes, be ready” and these were the only red shorts I had that fit to keep with my daily red theme in February. When I got in the car and saw how they dug in I thought well, I guess this is my moment to teach you all that this isn’t how it’s supposed to be.

Hope this helps. Although I do love these shorts and have sourced them for you, I will add my other suggested brand that doesn’t dig in or roll up👏 but they will be in standard black or blue colors.(animal print, too!)

What NOT to Wear!!!

Let’s wear clothing that reflects our current body…

When we wear clothes that are not our current size during a body transformation whether it be from a Bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, Lipedema removal surgery, GLP1 journey, natural weight loss, weightlifting or whatever method you are employing to create your shift, we get confused because our eyes see what is shown to them and then our brains have a difficult time noting the difference.

If you want details on this comfy, warm, soft pajama / lounging set, let me know and I will see if it can still be sourced.
