June is Lipedema Awareness Month, Let’s Kick Things Off This Monday!

June is Lipedema Awareness Month, so I have some exciting updates and reminders as we head into a month filled with camaraderie, education and awareness advocacy for our Lipedema community.

Although this week was met with an unexpected twist, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lipton for inviting me to their “Two Cups to Goodness” Green Tea event. We learned that Lipton green tea is packed with flavonoids that would be the equivalent of a plate of broccoli!  It was a fantastic morning that I thoroughly enjoyed together with many other creators. I appreciated their parting gift…a canvas tote bag filled with a hat, 5-minute journal,pen and two boxes of their signature green tea. They are fantastic additions to my Lipton home! Lipton’s decaffeinated iced tea lemon flavor has been a valuable part of my weight management journey for the past 20 years, so I was really happy they invited me and I love to give a shout-out to Lipton for their amazing products and hospitality.

Stay tuned for more on the unexpected!  Let’s just say in every journey there are hurdles to jump. This week, mine was that my refill for Zepbound was denied.  The insanity is real and I am in the midst of supplying them with more information AND looking into new solutions that will likely be beneficial to us all! The good news is my scale is down an official 10.2 pounds in May for a total of 26 pounds lost since November.

AND, Finally, I am thrilled to report that I have added an assistant to my team and my web team is back in action. Be prepared for lots of updates and exciting new opportunities.

Looking Forward to Seeing You at FDRS 2024!

Hello!

I have missed you ALL!  Today, I’m popping in to remind you about the FDRS 2024 Annual Conference in St. Louis starting tomorrow! THIS is our annual event for Lipedema, Dercum’s and other connected diseases.

The FDRS (Fat Disorders Resource Society) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people affected by adipose tissue disorders. This year’s exciting lineup of experts will discuss non-surgical and surgical options to manage Lipedema, Dercum’s, and Madelung’s disease.

For the THIRD year in a row, I’ll be hosting the fashion show and helping the Lipedema Education Group (LEG)  talk about our new initiatives to serve patients and practioners. You can find out more about our work here https://community.lipedema.com/  and how you can become part of this new community.  This is the fifth year I have attended FDRS and, I am amazed to reflect that it is the third FDRS fashion show I have coordinated / hosted, and the fifth I’ve participated in as a model! During the past two months, I have had the pleasure of working individually with our model volunteers to ensure they showcase outfits that bring out their glow.

Sign Up for Our EFT Series

I’m excited to invite you to a wellness series that I’ll be hosting with Lauren Fonvielle (@laurenic0le). 

Our series, “Managing Pain with Tapping: Introduction to the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT),” includes five sessions covering the topics of Pain, Acceptance, Anxiety, Overwhelm, and Mobility. By utilizing tapping, Lauren will guide us toward self-healing to break through physical, mental or emotional obstacles.

Making My Mother Proud: Macy’s Affiliate Announcement

Oh, how my Mother would be SO thrilled, amazed, and even proud! In my family, we didn’t celebrate moments we should have been proud of because we were taught to be humble regardless of the accomplishment. It’s hard for me to let go of this habit, so know that when I share with you the latest happenings in my life, it’s a growth moment, because I am actually going out of my way purposefully to share in the interest of learning and blossoming further into myself and my entrepreneur journey.

With all that said, I am totally excited myself!!! Not only is Macy’s one of the largest and oldest department stores in the USA, it is also MY personal favorite since childhood! I grew up a mile from the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York, and Macy’s was an anchor department store. Later, when I moved to California, while I was living in San Diego, I was recruited to become a part of the Human Resources team at Macy’s in Sherman Oaks at the Fashion Square Mall. That was a dream come true!

For me, this is all a return to my beginnings. I studied Business in College; Marketing was my major and Advertising was my minor. Plus, I had a concentration in Fashion. (Doesn’t it all make sense now? lol) Now that I’m a Macy’s affiliate, you will be able to shop through my link for any product they carry online. If the purchase is eligible, I may earn a commission. I believe Macy’s is the ultimate place to shop because you can find most things there. Of course, I enjoy the clothing options. They offer a broad range of sizes and good quality pieces. At the FDRS conference in Atlanta last weekend, I wore three dresses from Macy’s. I even had to stop by their Perimeter location to buy a pair of pajamas because I needed something warmer to sleep in than what I brought. In addition to all the clothing items anyone could need, they also have wonderful offerings for jewelry, perfumes, shoes, makeup, purses/belts, furniture, bedding, housewares, collectibles, and toys.
